Painting pumpkins is a staple for families with young children, and I have the perfect book to read along with this yearly activity.

Have you ever painted pumpkins with your kids? It’s a little easier than carving, so it’s great for young children, or even just a quick morning project during the Fall.
Most of us have at least heard of pumpkin painting with kids. I planned on adding this to my pumpkin unit study simply because it’s fun and fast, but I accidentally found the perfect book and activity combo!
Read the book, It’s Pumpkin Day, Mouse, and then provide your kids with paint and pumpkins!
Voila!
The book inspires them to paint faces and talk about emotions. It’s easy for toddlers and preschoolers, but still engaging enough for the older kids. It’s a win-win!
