Description

This slow cooker chicken teriyaki makes for the perfect freezer meal that you can dump and go in your crockpot. Simply add all ingredients in a ziploc bag and freeze until you’re ready! It will come out tender and flavorful.

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tsp sesame oil
  • 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp of minced ginger
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into chunks and add to a gallon Ziploc bag.
  2. Add all ingredients except for the corn starch into the bag and mix.
  3. Take 2 tbsp of the marinade and mix with 2 tbsp of cornstarch. (You can skip this step if you want, but the cornstarch makes the sauce thick)
  4. Add cornstarch slurry to the bag and mix again.
  5. Flatten the bag and get rid of all the air. Freeze until you’re ready to cook!
  6. Dump the meal directly into the slow cooker, or thaw in the fridge the day before.
  7. Serve over rice and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can skip the cornstarch if you don’t mind thinner sauce.
  • Green onions go great with this meal.
  • Add any vegetables to the bag for a more well-rounded meal.
