DIY Rose Petal Bath Soak | Modern Homestead Mama

I’d love to go to the spa one of these days. Unfortunately, like many busy mamas, I can’t seem to set aside the time to do it. So I’ve settled for the next best thing – having a DIY spa night at least once a month. I get a face mask on, paint my toenails, do the whole shebang!

What’s more relaxing than having a bath alone? Having a bath alone – with a rose petal bath soak.

Ooo, ahh!

How relaxing, right? Nothing makes me feel fancier than sitting in a tub with a bunch of gritty salts and dead foliage floating around! (Do petals count as foliage? Probably not, but I like that sentence.) But really, it’s the best. Don’t ask me why! Maybe it’s the smell, or how soft my skin is afterward. Or maybe I’ve just seen way too many romantic comedies, where the guy runs a bath and there are petals strewn around everywhere.

I love this one! It smells and looks amazing. It’s the easiest, most classic version if you ask me.

How beautiful is this one? Yes, I spelled “Himalayan” wrong on the label. *Facepalm* I fixed it on the printable labels, so yours will be correct. The pictures came out too well for me to want to retake all of the pictures just because I had a blonde moment. Cut me some slack, y’all. I think I’ve written “Himalayan” a grand total of three times in my life.

This coconut rose bath soak smells heavenly. I personally didn’t even add any essential oils to this one, because it smelled so dang good.

Most recipes will tell you to grind up the oatmeal. I was feeling a little lazy that day, so I left them whole. My bath wasn’t lacking anything from using whole oats, so unless you really want to, I don’t think it’s necessary.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

You’ll notice that every version of my homemade rose petal bath soak has 2 optional ingredients. Rose hip oil is supposed to be amazing for your skin. I don’t know enough about it to get too preachy, but I’ve used it here and there, and I really do love it. I swear it makes my skin more firm and healthy looking. You can also add some rose essential oil (or any essential oil, really) to add some extra smell-good to the whole thing. It’s not necessary though unless you’re really trying to get down on some aromatherapy.

If you give these out as gifts, I suggest using only the dry ingredients, unless you’re sure they’re going to use the bath soak within a few days. The oils tend to soak in and the whole thing can get kind of…well, oily.

If you like the jars I used, you can get some for yourself, HERE. Keep in mind that they are pretty darn tiny. I cut the ingredients in half so I didn’t have a ton of extra bath salts with no jars to put them in. They’re the perfect size for little goodie bags or gifts.

If you’re curious as to how I printed the labels, all I did was buy this sticker paper and print them! It’s as simple as that!

Enjoy! Don’t forget to make time for yourself. You can’t take care of your family if you don’t take care of yourself.

As always, your support is so greatly appreciated! Every share means so much.

I see you had 3oz jars, so I was wondering how much the 1 batch made so I could calculate how much I need to buy. I need to make 60 jars;)

    1. Hi LeeAnne,
Oh how exciting! I wish I could remember exactly how much it made 🤔 it makes about 2 cups worth, which I believe is 16 oz… I hope that helps! I should have paid more attention to how many jars it made. 💕

  2. Hi Victoria,
I made the Himalayan pink salt with dried rose petal salts and did not add any liquid, just to keep it lasting longer. After a few days I noticed the petals were starting to get moldy inside the air tight glass jar? What did I do wrong? 😢
    Xxoo,
    Denise

  3. Just curious to how much essential oil you add to the batch. And also how much you add to the bath water. Can’t wait to make!

  4. Could these recipes be divided up and put into small mesh bags and placed under the faucet while running for soaking purposes – maybe to save on tub clean up?
